Congratulations Newcastle City Council for the best ever fireworks display. It really was a fantastic show.
Ian Cooksey,StocktonWHAT is wrong with the Newcastle council? They didn’t supply any extra toilets or garbagebins at Stockton, as they have done in the past, for the thousands who turned out for the fireworks. It appears they were more worried about RV’s being there and wasted the money on a sign, instead oflooking after those of us whodid go.
Robert Lloyd, StocktonI DAREnot wish everybody toget what they wish for. What a Pandora’s Box that would open.Nor that we all have a prosperous new yearbecause that is really reaching for the stars.I will stay with the attainable, happy and healthy, and hope we all deserve what we get –and get what we deserve.
Ron Elphick, Buff PointWHAT’S the big deal with Panadol Osteo? The only difference between Panadol Osteo and ordinary Panamax is that Osteo is stronger per tablet. Panadol Osteo contains 665mg of paracetamol and ordinary Panamax contains 500mg. The whole issue smacks of the same tricks Nurofen played when labelling the one product with cures for different ailments. No, I’m not a chemist, but I did read the label.
John Atkins,Hamilton SouthDIDanyone else notice the irony of politicians telling Nathan Tinkler to clean up his mess.
Graeme Walker, AdamstownI AGREE with you Donna Norris (Short Takes, 30/12) – if it isn’t broken, you don’t need to fix it. Ourtrain line was the easiest way to get people into the city centre of Newcastle. I don’t think we will see the light rail system here in the next 10 years, if at all.I think the governmentjust wants to privatise thetransport system.I used to work for a private bus company and on a management level, they couldn’t organise adrink in a brewery.
Colin Geatches, MayfieldCHILDHOOD is the right of all children, that includes refugee children. Australia has children locked in off-shore detention camps away from the public view. Holding children in thesegulags is akin to terrorism for these children. Shame Australia, shame.
